I don't think its necessarily a question of forming your own club. I for one would rather not have lost my club and I don't think people should be expected to lose theirs.
I personally feel that fan ownership is the most effective model for a successful club (and by success I mean run responsibly and a decent match going experience, not winning every trophy in sight), however I don’t think its as simple as that. As many people on here will no doubt testify from personal experience, plenty of clubs aren’t run that way (St Pauli included) but are still thoroughly enjoyable. Enjoying football requires things such as (in my opinion) safe standing sections, a responsible attitude to ticket prices, more match going opportunities for kids and good communication with the fanbase (that all comes as standard in the non-league pyramid but is required right up to the top).
Im rambling. So conclusion (in my opinion) is you don’t need fan ownership to enjoy football, it might just help with preserve against the market forces our game currently finds itself abused by.
With regards to Arsenal, Im not that fond of Wenger (he’s a miserable so and so), but its impressive that a team can remain so successful whilst feeling the financial strain of building a stadium. Richest club in Britain now apparently so you wonder why Arsenal would be interested in Usmanov, still I guess we were richest till Glazer turned up. P.o. Christophe I hope the bid is resisted.
