.

im a supporter of st pauli because of a german friend from hamburg i met a few years ago now who told me about the club. i was especially impressed at the st pauli fans' anti-idiot ideology and how it led them to confrontations with other club's idiots over racism/facism/neo-nasism/sexism/homophobia et al.

he had a shirt about buying beer to save st pauli; so how could you not love a club that encourages alcoholism for community participation!

i came to this site to talk english re: st pauli because i dont know any german! this site seemed the best english st pauli site. are there any others?

being from oz we dont ever get any st pauli games. so any advice on where to see them would be nice. if someone has cable that shows st paul - can they record that feed for those who cannot obtain it in far flung parts of the world?

anyway - nice to meet everyone Smile viva st pauli!

Welcome to the board,

Without blowing our own trumpet, this is certainly the best UK St Pauli fans site(there may be more out there ?) and it's well worth having a trawl back through the old threads and topics.

Loads of decent guys and gals on here and the more regular of us have met up on occasions in Englans and at St Pauli games in Hamburg and further-field.

Normally try and wear my St Pauli tops when i'm in Melbourne each January for the AO and always seem to meet loads of Brisbane folk there, not to mention loads of Hamburg St Pauli fans as well.

Last year after watching South Melbourne play, a local lad recognised my Pauli shirt and he'd heard a lot about the club.

NB If you wanna catch up to date pics of the games, i'd recommend you try

Norbert who runs the site has a superb archive section of home/away games and the Amateure team games as well

Cheers Andy

You can get the St Pauli games streamed live and legally through the Bwin betting site. The only catch is that you need to deposit the equivalent of £7, which you can always take out again after the game. The quality isn't brilliant, but with a bit of fiddling you can enlarge the screen size and follow the games fairly well.

cheers everyone! thanks for the warm welcome.

i used to watch the games through the betting site before they made you deposit $ to watch the game.

i didnt know about fc st pauli tv. not having any german knowledge and st pauli not having much english internet information makes it challenging to find out about them. i think ill check out st pauli.tv - ill go find the relevant threads.

I've just joined myself and it's great to see some fellow Aussie St Pauli fans. Born in Sydney, Ihave lived in Glasgow for the last five and a half years, but will be returning home for good in January. I'm looking forward to following my local team, Sydney FC, in the new A-League (which was non-existent when I still lived in Oz and seems to be taking off in a big way). Any other Sydney based St Pauli fans should feel free to get in touch via PM. I will be continuing my subscription to St Pauli TV when I get home and would be keen to get a few folk around who'd be intersted in watching the games and having a bit of a party.

p.s. Sorry Peligro, but what a great upset for Sydney last weekend. Hopefully Sydney can turn around what has been an awful start to the season.
