What? Greater even than Eusebio?
(OK, before someone pulls me, I know he was actually from Mozambique)

By the way, the all-year-round availability of Bock is a recent phenomenon. Originally it was brewed by monks for consumption during Lent. The idea being that the nutritional ingredients in Bock compensated for the lack of nutrition from fasting.
In Texas, bock is very popular, two local brands being Shiner and Siegen, due to Czech-German settlement in the region.

is also available in the MRE bar for CYCM.at gigg lane!!

Eusebio is at Gigg Lane??!! He wasn't looking too match fit last time I saw him on the telly but with that talent it probably won't matter.

Na he's diversified. He's just in the bar. A mixture of stand up and Morrissey covers. Laughing

Actually that might start the most unfounded of rumours.

Second thoughts we could do with the gates that might generate. Official Eusebio doing Moz tributes every home game at Gigg Lane! Wink

Back from this slightly surreal tangent. Becks Green Lemon is awful. Kind of like drinking beer with fairy liquid in it.

I'll go for the obvious and say I prefer Astra (naturally from the bottle whilst standing out in the blistering cold on the Hamburger Berg) or if my girlfriend (who quite frankly should work for Astra the way she polices my beer choice) isnt looking Ive got a lot of time for Jever (fancy dan champagne flute glass then) or a Flens (from the bottle with a plop) too.

Super Bock also do a lager with lemon (which takes us back to the original discussion) and a 'stout' called Tonic.

On my travels i have discovered 2 great beers and they are both Belgian. The first is Rochefort 8. Lovely dark, malty and mega strong.

The second is Westmalle Donker. Similar to above but with a bit more of a bitter zest to it.

A word of warning though. It was while living in Antwerp that I developed a liking for these two tipples. While out there some of my family came over to visit. On one trip my dad and uncle were amongst those who joined me for a day out to the charming city of Ghent. Sadly the architectural wonders of this fine Flemish city was lost on us as we spent most of our time on the beer terrace supping the local ales. However our dad and me uncle wisely stuck to the lightweight 'John Smiths substitute' beers like Der Koninck. Weak beer for big girls blouses i told them. I was drinking Rochefort. Strong gear, mens beer I explained. Blokes beer and no doubting it.

Oh how they laughed when it was me who actually fell to sleep on the train on the way back to Antwerp. Should have stuck to boys beer as my dad still reminds me to this day.

Ah well, thats my beer skeleton out of the cupboard, Mickie in Middlesbrough
