Something about the strips from the early 70's I like.
Arsenal, yellow with blue trimmings. Charlie George and all that.
Ajax. I've always liked this one. In the 70's a few teams went with this design. Carlisle Utd with white panel and Hearts with maroon panel. Did I just mention Carlisle and Hearts in the same sentence as the great Cruyff classic
Barcelona. Can't leave out this strip. |

ive just remembered a belter,in the early ninties celtic had a black away shirt with green stripes, made by umbro,it had a button and a HUGE colar! what made it even nicer was it had no sponsor(i think this was when celtic were in such a mess, remember when they had the big umbro diamond(in BLUE!!) in the middle of their shirts)
twas a cracking shirt though _________________ so houst up the john b sail

My favourite was a Newcastle second strip which was sky blue with a black and white hoop around the middle (a la Samp) with the Blue Star in the middle of the chest. It had a V neck with black and white trim and was worn with style by Sir Les who looked magnificent in it. Contrast with our close fitting all silver change strip from the 80s as worn by Mickey Quinn who looked REALLY fucking fat in it.
BTW The blue number was worn for the last ever Tyne/wear derby at Joker Park which NUFC won 2-1 with goals by Sir Les and Peter Beardsley. _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'

I like Cameroon from '82. Peru (as mentioned earlier from '7
Check out that Mexico change shirt from '78. Design classic? Made by Levis of all people |
I'd no recollection whatsoever of the France 3rd strip with green and white vertical stripes. Looks really odd with the rst of the kit. Was this a one off or have they played in this at any other time? |

Well <beams> that kit wasnt actually an official French kit. They turned up to play in blue and for some reason this was deemed to clash with Hungary's shirt so the French had to borrow the kit of local side - Kimberley. _________________ Geschunden durch den (Hamburg) Sport Verein....Samstag ist Selbsmord |

Wales 1970's,; you know the one with the yellow strips down each side of the shirt that continued onto the shorts.
Argentina home 1978.
Arsenal away mid 1970's, big collar - big cannon in the centre.
CCCP Lev Yashin black with the laces down the front.
And for a modern effort; Athletic Bilbao's curent home effort is decent.
Just a quick point; hasanyone noticed the eastern European teams in 60's/70's were obbsessed by plunging necklines. I have an East Germany and a Dukla Prague top at home and nice as they are they do show off to much flesh (or in my case hair - I have been told it looks like a Triantular trying to escape my top!) _________________ Estudiantes; Striped shirts, black panties |

?
Oh, a tarantula!
For a minute I thought you had something triangular (maybe a triangular bandage or a Toblerone perhaps) trying to escape from your top which painted quite a surreal mental picture! |

These are my favourite kits :
1. Definitely Mexico's World Cup 98' kit - absolutely magnificent, although some (or maybe most of the people) would say it's very, very odd
2. St.Pauli 06/07 black camo kit
3. Paris SG 06/07 Brown away kit / St.Pauli 05/06 white camo kit
4. Jamaica World Cup 98' kit
5. Juventus 1995/96 blue away kit with yellow stars / Wolfsburg's electric green kit (they played with it somewhere between 1998 - 2002, I can't exactly remember)
I also think there some very good goalie shirts - for example, St.Pauli's 06/07 grey shirt and this year's light green one are fantastic ... _________________ Levski Sofia, Juventus & Sankt Pauli fan |
