Moin,

me, a friend and maybe my girlfriend will fly to Edinburgh June 6, want to stay there for a night and then move on to Glasgow as we have tickets for the christy moore gig on Sat. back to Edinburgh airport Monday morning.

Any recommendations where to stay? Favourite bars in Edinburgh? I know Glasgow a bit (the bars a bit more Very Happy actually), but not Edinburgh.

cheers

That's a shame. I will probably see you at the airport as I'm flying to Zurich on 6 June to see a bit of the Euro championships. Otherwise I would have been happy to show you round my adopted town. The least I can do is to come up with some ideas for drinking. Tell me a bit more about what type of pubs you like and I'll be happy to make some suggestions. I'll be meeting some more Edinburgh based St Pauli fans on Sunday and I expect thay might be keen to give you a bit of a guided tour.

If there is anything special to pub culture in Scotland wouldnt mind visiting such a pub, otherwise "Irish"/Celtic pubs are my favourites. At my visits to Glasgow I especially liked the Brazen Head, the Bairds wasn't too bad either. My regulars in Dublin (I am over 2-3 times a year) are The Celt, Mulligans, Palace. Maybe that gives you some hints. Smile

would be brilliant. Always like to be with the locals, esp. if they support St.Pauli from that far away. If not we'll find our ways anyway.

any recommendations concerning accommodation? Some nice B&B or so close to the center?

thanks a mill. as we might only stay one n8 (maybe from Sunday to Monday as well, not clear yet), it wouldn't make much sense to travel outside the city too much. Completely forgot about the Euro Championship btw, but I guess if there are any interesting games some pubs will show them.
