i think the video in this report sums up rangers and their fans. Absolute scum. the way they have behaved in Manchester shows them up for what they really are.

Scotland's Shame

Read I think on the bbc website them praising Rangers fans for their support. Surely this "bouncy bouncy" thing isn't true? Any proof to this?

I think it goes back to the same era as the "Billy Boys". Someone (or it may have been more than one incident) got killed by having their head jumped on and the thugs who did it started this as a celebration. It may be apocryphal but I've heard this explanation of the origins several times.

Indeed. Whatever his own personal beliefs I'm not sure I'd want him stood next to me on the barricades!

Still, what can you expect from someone named after some poncey yellow 1970s drink favoured by great-aunts at Christmas and Peter Wyngarde wannabes!

Laughing I used to work with a Celtic fan who, when discovering the name of this new Rangers manager, spent the entire afternoon phoning up his mates and asking 'Have you seen who the new Huns manager is? Penis Eggflip! Hurr-hurr-hurr-hurr....'.

He was at least 45 years old!

Many Rangers fans seem to be blaming the organisation and saying that Manchester wasn't prepared for the influx. I imagine many cities of Manchester's size may well have struggled to cope with upto 200,000 utterly pissed up people suddenly descending upon its centre too. Manchester City Centre isn't really that big.

OK, presumably the council bid for the final, but most other clubs would obviously not have brought this many fans with them or anywhere near it for that matter. A screen breaking down is no excuse for what happened last night. These things happen. Get on with it. You don't trash somebody else's city, putting windows through, rolling over and smashing up cars (and the rest) etc... because you can't watch the match.

The Police seemed to be quite relaxed to everything up until the screen breaking. But the old chestnut of heavy handed policing has also been banded about. Certainly, the behaviour was pretty disgusting up until then, if not violent. Pissing everywhere. Puking everywhere. Lovely. The city looks and smells like a giant landfill today.

Maybe the wisdom of putting up screens in the city centre could be questioned. Maybe Heaton Park being set up like a festival would have been a better idea. But I think that's irrelevant. I think it'd be naive to expect no trouble at all but last night was fuckin' disgraceful behaviour.

THE BOUNCY BOUNCY SONG IS ABOUT THE MURDER OF ROBERT HAMILL IN PORTADOWN IN THE 90s. ROBERT WAS BEATEN TO THE GROUND BY A GROUP OF LOYALISTS WHO PROCEADED TO JUMP UP AND DOWN ON HIS HEAD WHILST LAUGHING. THIS WAS WITHIN 50FT OF AN RUC LANDROVER, WHOOSE OCCUPANTS THOUGHT IT WOULD BE WISE TO NOT GET INVOLVED.

I really find that hard to believe (Not that I am doubting you just shock) What the hell is wrong with these people? Sounds like the deep south at the turn of the last century.

Watching the BBC footage of 20 or so Rangers fans surrounding a Police officer and kicking him senseless was non too pleasant either.

Thanks for correcting me daithi1888.

Lermontov your deep south comparison has been made up here before. You're a couple of centuries out though - unfortunately some of these idiots are still living in 1690.

I was unfortunate enough to be on a train to Manchester on Wednesday.
Correct me if I am wrong (and I am pretty sure I am not) but is the t-shirt in this picture not racist? Why the police did not charge him I will never know?

This stuff really just beggars belief. Why are they even allowed to play Scottish football never mind European football?

As for the photo. Send it to GMP and ask them the same question.

That tee shirt really shows the ignorance of the Huns, not just the racism which is accepted by all the other fans, but the fact that they don't know the difference between Japan and Korea.

If you're going to make crass generalisations about a race at least try to get it right. So no doubt the more educated Huns have tee shirts which read "Nakamura ate my goldfish raw".

The was a good counter post in one forum, which showed the alsation with it's jaws sunk into a thugs leg with the caption "Nakamuras' dog ate my Hun"

Laughing Quality that one. Should get a few of those t-shirts printed. The only way to deal with such backward vermin is to treat them with the contempt that they deserve.
