Some of you will know that a few off us would like to have a Summer London get together, probably in a pub in Central London (for a change) and on a Weekend afternoon.
The Ship in Wardour street has been suggested as it is staffed by and frequented by quite a few St Pauli fans!
June is out for me and Malcolm (the lurker ) so how about one of the following dates in July?
Please say which is best for you out of the following -
12 and 13 July, 19 and 20 July, and 26 & 27 July.

of course, if we had it on july 12th we could also celebrate the historic victory of of one set of orcs over another on the blood soaked fields of the boyne valley....
or maybe not!
however i will be following this thread closely - do these bars sell magners cider..... he wondered!

Dear All,
not a big fan of the the 12th myself but will go with the crowd on this one.
will do a reconnoitre of the place soon (maybe Sunday as its London Fetish Fayre day of the month).
have heard that the crowd running the pub go back to the punk era of the late 70s so it should be a good juke box.
look forward to meeting up and will visit the Zeitgiest maybe for a Euro match.
regards,
michelle |

Pre-season friendlies would have started in earnest by then, so any Sunday's fine with me, pending fixtures a Saturday would be ok.

wouldn't mind going to zeitgeist for a Euro game, would we be able to squeeze in for a Germany one tho, might be busy.
i'd be surprised if it doesn't serve Magners (its a Fullers pub i believe), it not, strongbow if u like that!
from what i remember, the music is great there.. |

thankyou aliceb
thing about "strongbow" is: just when yer about to take a big sup people start fekkin' shooting arrows at you!
or did i dream that?
what a marketing ruse by UK bulmers (bassturrdz), btw! how many gombeen pig farmers (such as myself!) slink over the pond to the BIG island and wander into some local alcohol emporium and ask mein host:
HAVE YOU BULMERS KIND SIR?
WHY! YES INDEED WE HAVE "BULMERS" replies the shifty publican
THEN... A PINT BOTTLE OF BULMERS PLEASE we ask (hoping for an icy swally of clonmel's finest orangey white trash apple champagne!)
only to be presented with a bottle of.................... "bulmers"!
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-uch!
a master stroke

I've voted for the 19th but to be honest I doubt if I'll be able to make any weekend in July. All other weekends are booked with football or festival related activities and I think if I try to fill in the gap Lady Roger will be changing the locks. I got away with going to Zeitgeist for the last day of the season (having arrived home somewhat the worse for wear and rather late the previous day - I wonder what that was all about ) but this could be one step too far. _________________ Hampshire ist Blau-Weiss |

don't know anything about a BBQ but would be up for that if anyone wants to arrange one!
19th is emerging as the favourite... |

apparently if we want to go to the Ship, we have to make it a Saturday as they are closed Sundays.
they have been in touch and are very keen to have us and i think we should cultivate this friendship! |
