Anyone recommend a relatively cheap and decent hotel in Bremen city centre? Planning to stay there before getting a middday flight the next day from Bremen in a fortnight.

We had trouble getting in anywhere cheap on a Saturday night, ended up in the Best Western right near the station. Great location but bloody pricey.

I think there was some sort of Christian Yoof festival going on the weekend we were there, which might explain the lack of available rooms.

It's for a Sunday night.

Alternatively, I would stay at the ETAP in Hamburg and get the train down in time for my check in. Bad memories of doing that the last time though> drink, up to early, sick, dying, rough. All that sort of caper Laughing

Stayed at GasHaus Bremer Back Packer Hostel. About 5 minute walk from Hauptbahnhof. Clean, handy for bars the main Bremen strip is not far from the hostel, avoid it!

Book through here. You'd need a cab from the airport as it can be quite difficult to find (about 15 euros) and a map with address and post code. Its off a couple of side streets so cabbie may not know it imediately.
