I work in supported housing in Oldham, Lancs and am happy to report that one of our service users has been selected for the squad to represent England (despite the fact that he is actually Portuguese) at the Homeless World Cup in Melbourne later this year.
We may yet have a second service user (again of Portuguese origin) in the squad but will not know for a few more weeks.

nice event! I saw it a couple of years back in Graz, when austria was represented by a squad of asylum seekers. That was great enough, but if I remember correctly, by doing that, they somehow exploited a grey-area in the austrian legislation that says that as soon as you participate in (or win - cause that is what they did) an official international competition for austria you can basically claim citizenship... hehe... Wink
Couldn't find a link though....

took them to the regulator, according to Mrs Nonye Onyema, had proceed out from the staff of the Escritoire to the Tell Regime (SSG) with a N250,000.00 draft, which he declared as rectification.

Haven't got a clue what you're on about pal!

As a footnote to my original post, we only have the one service user (who I'm now happy to report, is no longer homeless and his is own tenancy with Oldham MBC), that made the final squad.
One of my colleagues managed to blag his way over though - jammy bugger!
