Hi, I'm Nige.
From the Wirral, based in Leeds. Been quietly interested in St. Pauli for at least 8 years now, and made plenty of St. Pauli friends at various events round Europe, but because I have a lot of other football commitments I've only ever been to Hamburg a couple of times (including for the wonderful AntiRa tournament at the training ground last May).
Anyway, I've accepted a month's work in Hamburg, thinking I'd be able to see a couple of games at the Millerntor... but the way things have worked out, I'm there 17 Aug - 15 Sept and so will only be able to take in one solitary match at home v. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on 31 August. That will be the first German league match I've been to in fact.
Ah well it's better than nowt I suppose !
Have sorted tix through the Fanladen for me & my partner Claire who's a big St. Pauli fan & will visit that weekend.
Anyone else around that day ?

Gig Friday night, v. close to the Millerntor (even closer to Feldstrasse U-Bahn) to raise money to do out the new Fanladen room in the South Stand, which is currently just an empty space I think.
Should be decent, local ska band plus the fairly well-known Hamburg dubbers -Dubtari

Not quite right - in the new Gegengerade, so in at least 4 years time. Money we need to raise: about 400,000 Euro, but not only for Fanladen, but for other rooms, too.
Was there, very nice event, had to leave around 3am cause had to catch train to southern Germany... _________________ Irish Folk&Rebel from St.Pauli:

Pretty much roundly ignored. He trudged past the Ultras at the end with a sort of brief-salute-whilst-shrugging-and-kind-of-giving-it-the-old-'what-can-you-do,eh?'-sort-of-facial-expression
Had a great weekend me. We saw the ressies win 3-2, the women win 5-1 (but had to leave early to get to the Millerntor*) and then my first St.Pauli league match on the SudKurve .... the atmosphere on the streets outside all the bars later was BRILLIANT !
* NB if you're not at the Fanladen when you should be, they will re-sell your tickets. We stayed at the Sunday morning women's match (up Niendorf way) a bit too long and were SOOO-OOO lucky that the Ultras had 2 spares at the last minute. |
