Going to unexpectedly be in Hamburg for the first time ever and would like to take the opportunity to see St.Pauli in action in whatever form Very Happy

Anyone know if the reserves?, youth team??, under 11's??? are playing? Very Happy

I can't see a first team game listed. Would this have been a cup game? Confused

It's the international break weekend I think, so there are 2 away Testspielen (friendlies) not far from Hamburg.

06.09.2008 15:00 TSV Bargteheide FC St. Pauli
(about 40km from Hamburg)

07.09.2008 14:00 Ostseeauswahl (Hasloh) FC St. Pauli
(Northern edge of the city ?)

Not sure what sort of squads will be put out as they are playing Saturday AND Sunday, but I can ask my flatmate Carsten (who works p/t for the fanladen) what the situation is and all the directions, etc, though alternatively you could just go into the Fanladen on the 5th and have a chat with the nice folks there whose job it is to help you!

Fairly sure the first team are away to Kaiserslautern on the 6th.

The second team(amateure) are away at Eintracht Norderstedt which is in greater Hamburg and around 20-25 mins on the U bahn from Hamburg HBF on Sunday 7th at 2pm

I'm over on the 6th and 7th and may be heading for that one on Sunday or i've pencilled in two on Sunday and one on Saturday.

However, Victoria Hamburg are at home on Friday night (5th) and if you're a lover of traditional old style grounds(as a lot of us are) i'd say it's not a ground to be missed, again it's fairly central in Hamburg and only a 10 minute walk from the nearest U/S bahn.

Andy - Kaiserslautern away is 12th Sept

I'm going (train from Paris arrived 15.30 - cutting it fine), anyone else going over for it and want to meet up?

I might be up for both those, and I might even be at that same stadium tomorrow to see Altona v. Chemnitz, as I know a bunch of USP are going along to give appropriate greetings to any of the notorious Chemnitz fash ....

My fanladen flatmate confirms that the reserves game on the 7th will be a far better bet than those 2 Testspielen I mentioned above.

Off out for a few jars with him in SP right now ...

@Nico-sorry about that, should have checked the date burnout

Ah yes those nice chemnitz fans-i remember seeing a particularly nasty bunch being escorted towards the Millerntor when we played them a round 3 years ago, i foolishly wore an old Tranmere away shirt that happened to be the same colours as the Chemnitzer shirt, and had to explain to a couple of guys that it wasn't Chemnitz..

Thanks for the info ref the testspieles, looks as if i'll be at the amateure away game on the Sunday(after a nice early morning ko in Hamburg)

I too am across the weekend of the 5th-7th september.
My mate booked before the fixture list was out.
The Saturday game against Bargteheide looks like a better option for us as we go home Sunday.
How do we get there from central Hamburg. How long will it take. What sort of crowd will be expected for a second team friendly? I take it you can just pay at the gate?

both friendlies are of the first team. the second team has a regular league match on the Sunday in Norderstedt, as mentioned above. don't think I'll manage to get to any of them.

Apparently I missed a cracker (was invited to Lubeck to do the tourist thing instead).

Altona 3-1 down at h-time, won 4-3

The usual racist chants / t-shirts from the couple of hundred Chemnitz fans

c. 1,500 in the crowd altogether, including plenty USP (3 USP arrests at/around Hohenluftbrucke station where they waited for the fash, including SP xxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx, all later released without charge)

Let that be a lesson to you!!! Les, Roger and I "did" the Lubeck thing the previous week. Dreadful place!! Rolling Eyes

Amused about the ********* thing, though. Says it all really, doesn't it? Could you imagine a player turning out with fans for a ruck in this country? Mind you I reckon if ********** had swung a punch he'd have missed Shocked Shocked

Saw the highlights on MDR yesterday - Altona were actually 3-0 up at one point just before half time, but Chemnitz brought it back to 3-3 before Altona got the winner in the 85th. Very Happy

Yeah, he sounds like a real supporter, and a bit of a nutter in the nicest possible way. He was in fact arrested at the station on the very edge of town - Bergedorf- where they bussed the Chemnitz out to, to avoid clashes at the main station, so he'd really gone out of his way with the USP hardcore, but John, could you edit your post (as I have) to cut out his name, and can I ask nobody else to refer to it/him by name ? The USP are doing the same, so it's avoided the papers so far, and with any luck the lad can still have a 'career' (such as it is Wink )

Yeah, sorry for my false info there.

Just realised I'm gonna miss the near-derby Altona v. Kiel on the 13th too, as it clashes exactly with the bi-annual feast of not-much-football that is LFC v. MUFC.

So, it seems like not even the polizei realised XXXXXXXX was a player, so it didn't get any press, but XXXXXXXX thought he'd better tell the club himself before they found out on the village grapevine - the same grapevine that tells me Stani dropped him from the squad last weekend as a token slap on the wrist, and that's that.

As for this weekend, Victoria kick off at 7 on Friday and I finish work about 7.10, 15 mins jog away .... looks like I'll catch most of it ...

I can't wait to see how many teenage Ultras there are at their home games, relative to the 9 of them who sang/chanted impressively non-stop throughout the away match @ SP reserves last Saturday.

Got to go to Berlin Saturday & Sunday so no SP ressies @ Norderstedt for me.
