Great first half which got a bit tasty towards the end. 1-0 up. Fingers crossed.
I particularly enjoyed the ref's double yellow card when Bruns stopped the quick free kick and the Mainz player leathered the ball against him. The most theatrical brandishing of cards I think I've ever seen. One in each top pocket and revealed in unison. It was absolutely wonderful and made even better by it being repeated in slow motion as the half ended. Magical.
I was wondering when a Mainz player might get a yellow for their constant harassing of the linesman? I wouldn't have minded except he got everything right! _________________ Lost your love of life? TOO MUCH APPLE PIE! |

Spirited 1st half performance from St Pauli. Mainz are very fast in attack, so the 2nd half promises to be good. Let's hope Stani can celebrate his contract extension with a win. And yes, the ref seems to be related to Wyatt Earp! Fastest yellow-carder in the west. _________________ Der Junge von St. Pauli der hat die Welt geseh'n

What a cracking game! Exciting, fast flowing football, comical mistakes and that fantastic double yellow card flourish. A great point earned as well. _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'

Nice, we were lucky this time, unlike last week That goal came out of nowhere, it looked like Mainz wouldn't have any trouble with keeping their lead. _________________ Levski Sofia, Juventus & Sankt Pauli fan |

Best match I've seen this season Les. If it wasn't for the comedy/suicidal defending, St Pauli would be promotion contenders. I suppose therein lies the problem!
Glad you enjoyed the double yellow card flourish too. Did you catch the slow motion replay? It was beautiful. _________________ Lost your love of life? TOO MUCH APPLE PIE! |

Slow motion replay was balletic. I could almost hear the soaring strings, the trumpets and devil trombones - the cymbals clashing as he held the cards aloft..... the guns of the '1812 overture' in the background and the church bells pealing..... _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'

The double yellow was a stroke of genius. Never seen that done before.
I shudder to think were he'd put his pencil
Kind of balances out last week's disappointment. And very good result away at one of the top sides. At 1-0 up you just knew we'd go 1-2 down. The equaliser was a most unexpected bonus.
If only I could work out how to make the bwin window just a little bit bigger (any idea? I'm using a mac which probably doesnt help!) _________________
