Well, looks like it wasn't to be a repetition of us beating Soton 4.0 in the 1900 FA Cup final after all.
Still, we made a fight of it and it was by no means a whitewash.

By all accounts we were S**t and you dominated lots of the game. Anyway I was watching Winchester City Very Happy

Thanks CCR. I couldn't make the game either but to hear Saints fans speaking highly of The Shakers is praise indeed.

Incidentally we were both playing without a manager. There must be a precedent for this but none springs to mind.

Here's one that there may not be a precedent for though.... When the game against Stockport County was postponed due to a water-logged pitch a week last Saturday, our caretaker manager Chris Brass went and played for Hyde United (to whom he is still signed) instead. (They lost though)!

It's extremely refreshing to see only six premiership clubs left in the final sixteen (and at least one of them can't get any further)

Theres a bit of banter on the terraces of Winchester City now as a fellow St. Pauli fan is also a 'Pirate'!

To all you Blau-Weiss of Hampshire, what about a all Hants day out at Wembley?

OK no chance, But I have a funny/horrible feeling the Blau-Weiss half might go all the way!

Hamphire ist Rot und schwarz, kommen Sie auf den Bürgern

Phew! A point; and thankful I am for that small mercy!

I'm not the superstitious type really but I have my doubts about (although I have fond memories of his playing days) the wisdom of (whilst being yet again, three places from the bottom) signing a manager named 'Knill.' (For those forum members for whom English is a second language I should point out that Knill is pronounced with a silent 'K').

I don't know if we've any Wycombe Wanderers fans on here but if there are, my sincere condolences; I thought we were seriously outclassed on almost all levels.

On a slight tangent though; I was half glad we didn't get the upper hand. I mean, I'd mentally worked out a few permutations but was still wondering how I'd possibly get my vocal chords around a chant such as ".....small town near Newport Pagnall/Princes Risborough/Chalfont St Giles etc etc...."
