Well, bugger me!
Apart from my Semitic good looks my only distinguishing feature was a Torquay United badge.
Would have said hello but was more pre-occupied with a) not feeling a bit like death warmed up b) getting a seat and standing firm against the queue jumpers. |

Yesterday CBD Auckland, a gang of (I guess you could call them) emo-kids (hate the name - as if Punk was not emotional to begin with....anyways) spotted me walking in my Totenkopf hoodie. One came running after me saying that he liked the band too!
I was in a good mood, he might have been 15, so I took a minute to explain to him about the FC. I was still pleased with myself (having just delivered the message of hope and expecting him to join the good cause) when he asked me to swap shirts (him having a depressed yet passive-aggressive looking band print on this sweater I didn't recognise) so that he could cut out the skull and crossbones (he didn't like the way "St. Pauli" was written ) and put the name of some band underneath...
Is it just me, or do I expect too much of kids these days.....

to be honest, i think I looked at him, shook my head three times (in character with the old man he must have thought I am), said something polite like "No, thank you" and made my way to the public library...
yup, this is what I have become - days of rage and thunder while only wearing black clothes are over.
Having said that, there must be a different me who does all the football watching (and basketball and rugby), goes to rallies, is debating with friends (there seem to be a consensus that I'm a rambler and rager and hard to stop) or tries to buy decent cheese (outrageously overpriced here - don't get me started!)..... |

2 encounters with people yesterday to do with my St. Pauli hoodie...and both Hereford United supporters which suprised the fuck out of me.
Anyway, I was standing in the rain...waiting for the coach outside Edgar Street to come and take me to The Den. And a guy comes over and comments on my St. Pauli hoodie, "They won't like that down Millwall will they?! ". So then we start chatting about the police charging the club for recent policing costs, his old days when he live in Bermondsey, and the NF, and G8 and everything else in between. That made me really happy . There are more like minded people at Edgar Street than I thought!
So...got to the game late, pissed off, we lost from a last minute goal. Cold, fucking shit.
Wasaiting down the bottom of the stand to get on the coach, and 3 lads come down the stairs (you know the sort, 'lads', who I think make up what might be classed as Hereford's Firm. ) Anyway, I've always thought they were right-wingers, or at least not the most open minded bunch around.
So anyway, they point at me and go "there he is!", I'm thinking I'm about to get a punch for being a commie or summat. Then one of them comes over and says (quite drunkenly) "Man, I want that top! St. pauli are wicked! I fucking like them. It's all anarchists and squatters init!" Then he walked off to join his mates again.
So yeah...my life story. _________________

And the Hereford Against Harry campaign has begun.
How come / where did you hear this? Is it to do with him wearing the shirt when he played football against the kids when he did his 'charity' stuff in Africa? _________________

Is his Daddy's official country residence not somewhere near there? Or maybe the SAS connection.
Maybe he'll switch to Camarthen Town now Charles and Camilla have bought a place down there... |
