Bizarrely I got into a conversation a week or so ago with a lovely German girl who recognised my St Pauli t-shirt... it was bizarre because a) she grew up in Hamburg and had never attended a game, and b) after processing her credit card I noticed she shared her surname with Petrushka...

i was just out there wearing my new st Pauli hooded top courtesy of the celtic website and a guy pushing a small child in a toy car stopped me and told me he was a St Pauli fan..and in fact i noticed his keys were hanging form a brown St Pauli neck thing turns out he's a hairdresser working just out the back of my place..he was well chuffed to see the st pauli top being worn in Newcastle and i've told him about this place.
just busy copying the excellent CD i received the other week and hopefully i'll make his day in a mo when i pop a copy over the road for him |

Whilst i was running my bath on Monday night, i happened to wander in and catch what looked like a St Pauli shirt on BBC1's local TV programme in the South East.
Sure enough, a guy in Brighton named Jerry was wearing a totenkopf tee shirt whilst he was rummaging around making silk purses out of sows' ears in skips !
Was around a minutes' exposure for the tee shirt.
Wonder if anyone knows him ?
@Tracey, thought i was they only one ! mind you not too pleased with the E*****n bit though.. _________________ He didn't go round nowhere, i just sent him round ! |

Another one! In Haringey!
I was crossing the road in Green Lanes last night to pick up my dry-cleaning at 'Zephyrs Dry Cleaning' when I spotted a Women who I think was mixed race in a classic skull and crossbones St Pauli top. She was with another Women and they were talking English with a foreign accent, both all in black with purple and blue hair and both looked very punky/gothy/grungy looking.
Anyone we know? |

Another one! St Pauli must be one of the best supported teams in the World, and with some of the biggest mix of fans.
Saw a guy in a St Pauli scarf in the famous Gay pub, the Black Cap in Camden, yesterday.
Went over to chat and it turns out this guy is transgender/transvestite. I won't mention his name, but he wanted me to, felt it was important other St Pauli fans knew the team had supporters from all sorts of backgrounds/different lifestyles (and I agreed). Luckily most are open minded enough not to judge and I told him I never had problems being open about being Gay, and wouldn't expect to.
In fact, the only problem I have had is contacting 'St Pauli Queerpass', who seem oblivious to the fact Gay people in the UK might be fans as well. Does anyone know anything about this elusive group, they make it very difficult to join!
Still can't get over how many of us there seems to be in North London. |

Interestingly enough a mate rang me from a noted gay bar the Black Cap, in Camden and said he had just met a Lesbian St. Pauli fan. He seemed very pleased to pass on the information that there were a good few St Pauli fans in Norf Landaaan, in fact he seemed very pleased with the world in general when I was talking to him. _________________ Estudiantes; Striped shirts, black panties |

Another North London One!!
Spotted sitting a few rows in front of me, but in the Arsenal section at at The Emirates on Saturday (I was on the end of the Pompey lot!).
He was wearing all white top from a few years ago.
He did spot me after the game, but it was hard to shout over the noise the 'jubilant' Pompey fans were making!
Have Fun,

St Pauli must be the most popular German side OUTSIDE of Germany.
Discuss.
After all, I keep hearing about Bayern having lots of glory hunter fans all over the World, but why would foreigners adopt a German team at all, apart from people like us adopting St Pauli.
After all, if you were from an English speaking part of the world like Australia or USA you would probably adopt an English team like Man U (or Celtic if you had Irish roots)
And if you were from Latin America, you would probably adopt Real Madrid or Barcelona. I used to have a Mexican girlfriend and she supported Real Madrid (despite being left-wing!)
Unless it is commen for people in Austria or Switzerland to support Bayern?
I read in the rough guide to european football that Bayern have supporters and supporters clubs all over the world, but I have never seen any evidence of this, apart from German ex-pats of course, although it is very clear at home they are the glory hunters choice, despite being associated with Bavaria, which is an area other Germans like to make fun off! Always thought this was odd.
Unless there are people that support a team in there own country, plus Man U, plus Bayern, plus Barcelona and plus AC Milan for example, that really would be too many teams! And way too much glory hunting! |

ps - know 3 Arsenal fans at work who have all spotted Arsenal fans wearing St Pauli top in last year (maybe it's the same guy)
One of them went to HSV away and apparently a group of Arsenal fans stayed on to attend the St Pauli match, and sounds like they must have gone shopping in the club shop and/or the fanladen. |
