Hi there, I am flying into Lubeck on Thursday morning and would like to know the cheapest/easiest way to get into Hamburg city centre, also, how long should this take??

I normally do Stansted-Lubeck with Ryanair.

There's a bus directly outside the airport where it takes
you directly into Hamburg.

Bus terminates at Hamburg ZOB bus station and that's
only 100 yards from the main railway station Hamburg HBF

Takes around 1 hour and is 7 or 8 euros single.

Buses back go from the same stop, but check the times at
the airport(just as you come through customs, there is a
smallish poster up in the window of the tourist office with
the times on.

Lubeck is a pretty tiny airport anyway but it's good.

A few others do like to head into Lubeck for a beer first.

There are bust stops just outside again where the buses
go into Lubeck, Lubeck to Hamburg by train only takes
around 45-50 mins from memory.

Lubeck is a nice wee place so if you are flying in early in the day it's worth getting the bus or a taxi into the centre for a look around and a wee drink or some lunch and then just getting the train to Hamburg later on. They have left luggage lockers on the platforms at Lubeck train station so you can avoid having to lug all your gear around all day.

As Andy said it's less than an hour on the train to Hamburg.
