Hello There World!

Well Done John for getting this up and running - you are the last luddite I would have expected to to be found administering a message board!! I'm afraid there is little help I give you!

Anywho - on to St Pauli and why I'm here.

First heard about St Pauli many many moons ago through the guy I sat next to at Fratton Park (who had friends with the Tottenkopf T-shirt, which of course I thought was cool!).

Later I met two more Pompey fans who were also into St Pauli. and had just returned from a trip. Their recollections of the trip enforced my desire to go to the Millerntor - the following season I went, such a good time did I have, that I can't remember who they were playing or what the score was (but as I was with John who hadn't seen them win for 5 years, I'm guessing we lost or drew!) Have been back at least once a season ever since.

I have continued to spread the word of St Pauli and have taken a few friends over who have also loved it and then ended up taking their mates.

I haven't been yet this season, but I am going to the last game of the season against HscumV, and I will be bringing about 15 friends as it will be my stag do!!

As for why I support Pompey - born on the Isle of Wight, dad's a Pompey fan, Grandad was a Pompey fan, so I had little choice!!!

I will spread the word that a UK based message board is up and running and hopefully our memebership will swell.

Yes, the third Pompey fan of the day piles in.

Heard about St Pauli through John and his sticker on Finsbury Park Station. (Is that why Petruska wanted to live in the Finsbury Park area when she moved to London?) Like him have only managed to see them win twice but I think we've got more draws than losses under our belts. Having said that we were at Lubeck for the 6-0 dicking a few years ago so that probably counts double.

As for Pompey what choice did I have. Lived five minutes from Fratton Park and went to my first game aged six or seven. Good job really as I left Pompey when I was twelve but the damage was done by then. Endured some barren teenage years in Oxford only seeing the Boys in Blue when thay played at that cathedral dedicated to all things football the Manor Ground. Once I started work and moved to London normal service was resumed.

Right, back to trying to get a signature and avatar that actually works.

That'll have to do for now. I'll look for something more interesting another day.

OK, here is yet another Pompey fan - of 35 years' standing, although as a kid I flirted with Glasgow Rangers through Glaswegian paternal influence (that'll please Sanktic!).

Have actually only a casual interest in St Pauli (I think I first heard the name in connection with the Holsten brewery?) but I expect it to grow. My one game so far was a couple of months ago at Koln II, so although I have yet to visit the Millerntor I do have a 100% record of watching the boys in brown (I really dislike the colour of their strip too, but won't let that put me off). I was blown away by the bond between the players and the fans.

Here are my teams:

Top of the Pops: St. Pauli
England: Pompey (I didn`t have a team in England until I met Dunc, Urbs and the others. They bought my soul for just a few jevers... )
Greece: Olympiakos
Scotland: Celtic
Ireland: Cork City

Hello all, yet another Pomponian here. My name's Adam/Lesbo/whatever and I was first introduced to the beast that is St Pauli buy the boy Urbs. I guess it was about 2 years ago (correct me if I'm wrong, Urbs!) and I immediately fell in love with the football club and the city. I've since been back several times and introduced a few new fans too.

Incidentally, I've never seen St Pauli lose so if people want to pay for me to go over and be lucky then I'm open to offers.

What do you reckon of this rumour about Di Canio going to Portsmouth?

Any of you Pompey lot coming up to Brum for the relegation battle on Jan 21?

I am already to change the Pompey Punks Against Fascism stickers to Pompey Punks Against Di Canio if he were to ever join us - and he would be the first Pompey player I would boo every time he touched the ball!!

Saying that, now we may appear to have a bit of financial backing I expect us to go for yonger, hungrier and more skillfull players, like that nice Mr Terry Henry who seems to like us so much ;o))))))

I seriously doubt it - extreme lack of funds this year due to wedding (and more importantly - stag do!!) to save for!!

Hopefully by then we would have more some players (hopefully an out and out striker!!) and we'll be heading clear of this relegation battle!!

When I was over for the Hertha game I met a St Pauli fan called Mike who is a Rangers fan. He took an interest in Tottenham but got so much stick because his Spurs scarf had a union jack on it, that he decided to support Rangers. Despite his choice of other team he's a nice guy.
