I know it's unlikely but is anyone else going to see Springsteen at Old Trafford on Wednesday? _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'

Foo Fighters at Wembley on Friday.
Really looking forward to the gig, and a first visit to new Wembley too. |

My ticket for OT was £55 and he did a brilliant show. It was all old style E Street Band stadium rock - none of the introspective acoustic strumming. The crowd were mostly ageing pot-bellied rockers in leather jackets (unlike me of course - I favoured denim! ), the weather was foul, I got caught in a 2 hour jam on the M62, but it was money well spent. _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'

the weekend before last i saw the last two songs of the Levellers (only really went because I know their merch man)...whilst queuing for a piss at the end I could hear Ten Pole Tudor finishing with their big hit in the Academy 2 upstairs...and then on the Saturday i saw Eddie And The Hot Rods playing at my friends 20th wedding anniversary do
enjoyed the Levellers and wish I'd gone earlier..Eddie and the rods were ok but nowt special..nice enough fellas but I and a few others stood watching whilst thinking "I could do that, why aren't I in a band these days? " |

Because you realised that when you play three chords its jazz?*
The high point of last night's industry bash was when the DJ got bored of the global electronic diaspora and bunged on Black Sabbath's "Warpigs"... Shoreditch, Prague, Brighton, Paris, Barcelona, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Vienna, Berlin... We ROCK!

I'm sure we could get an old guys UK St Pauli Fans band together. I'm sure it would be a lot more successful than a football team! Maybe play a couple of numbers at Brownstock or something? There seems to be talent and experience around the board. Thoughts? _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'

To introduce a folk element - Went to see Deaf Shepherd at the Arran High School Theatre, Lamlash on Friday night as part of the Arran Folk Festival. Was over for a long weekend with the Mrs (1st Wedding Anniversary ) and saw a poster for the gig after getting off the ferry in Brodick. Fortunately there were still a few tix left so we went along.
I don't listen to folk music all that often nor do I go to many folk gigs but this was really superb. Very talented group of musicians, very tight, and the onstage banter between songs was both amusing and informative. Highly recommended if you like that sort of thing. |

Went to see Dirty Pretty Things at Glasgow ABC on night of the UEFA Cup final. Seemed to be mainly Celts in the crowd as the place went fairly mad when word came through that Zenit had scored. Carl Barat must have been wondering what the hell was going on. A great gig made all the better by the result from Manchester. Only bettered so far this year by The Enemy at Glasgow Academy, on Easter Monday. Both bands well worth catching live!! _________________ "It's not his creed nor his nationality which counts.
