As a matter of interest (not that I'm interested in actually going; in fact there'd be more chance of Ian Paisley singing "Roddy MaCorley" on the steps of the Vatican whilst wearing a Celtic shirt), how much are the tickets for Babs?

Last night - London Islington Academy

Turbonegro / Valient Thorr

Not heard of the support band but they were well good
Turbonegro played for 1 1/2 hours - A good mix of the best of all their albums

A great night despite having to venture into London

Off to Download today to see Turbonegro again daumen_hoch

Went last night to an evening of five local bands at the Met Theatre in Bury. Headliners 'This Product' good (hints of Zappa/Beefheart etc), but maybe a little too 'deliberately whacky' (I've always thought that if you have to work at being eccentric, it ceases to be eccentricity).
The band that did it for me were the first band on 'The Minions Of Jeffery.' Not sure about the name but a great set. Ska/punk type stuff with even a vague hint of metal. Great arrangements and two trumpet players (nowhere near enough horns around these days to my liking).

Went to the Yardbird in Birmingham last night.

Crap funk band from Leeds and mostly rubbish beat-boxer called Rupert.

Thank God I don't live here any more....

They paid £160 per ticket! Shocked

Went to see the The Sounds (who rock in a very 80s way) on Sunday night, Art Brut this Friday coming.

I just got home from Download - I went on Friday with a day ticket (it's 15 miles from my house) and I've just got back - 6 days later - Why? - Because I broke my ankle in 2 places just after Velvet Revolver's set - Was taken by ambulance to Leicester Royal Infirmary - Yesterday I had 7 screws and 1 plate put into my ankle/leg bones and today they sent me home

Means I can't go to Glastonbury now Sad

someone gave me a free ticket for Daft Punk, CSS etc at Hyde Park tomorrow so that's where I'll be. Notice the klaxons are on the bill as well.

I was a tad drunk (natch) but I think Art Brut did a song called 'St Pauli'. lyrics about learning German from a Daily Mail CD... this could be complete rubbish however Embarassed

A work mate was playing Art Brut's 'Rusted Guns of Milan' the other day at work (not live I hasten to add, on his mp3 player).

I not heard of them before that, reckon they're after a pre-match slot at the Millerntor? Wink

Which, if my maths is correct, is roughly equivalent to the price of a season ticket for the Millerntor.

Correct! Buying the cheapest season ticket you might even manage to get pretty drunk at every home match in the first half of the season.

Alcohol is mandatory when watching Sunderland, numbs the pain. (It used be anyway.)

Just found out that a mate has got me a ticket for Turbonegro at T on the Fringe. It was announced while I was away on honeymoon so I would have missed it otherwise. Looking forward to it immensely.
