hi everyone, i follow manchester city and heard about St Pauli through a city site. I love the sound of the club, however, when St Pauli was discussed it was mentioned that there was trouble between City and St Pauli supporters during a pre season tour. I love the political and hooliganism stance of the club so endevored to research this further.
Can anybody shed some light on this, id love to hear what St Pauli fans think of City aswell. We've alot in common! _________________ you saw me standing alone, without a dream in my heart. |

Rather than start a new City thread I'd thought I'd say hello here.
Orginally from Manchester now living in the West Midlands. Use to have a season ticket at Maine Rd, not any more as I just couldn't afford to go week in week out.
One of the reasons I'm here is because of the bloated commercialisation and hype of the Premier League. Sure I want City to do well but not with the Chairman we have at present.
I've been following (from a distance) the lads in brown, their fan base is great. Been to Hamburg once and had a great time though sadly I didn't get to see a game.
Why am I here? To mix with football fans who share similiar views. I've campaigned against the right and fought them (literally on occassions though that was awhile ago!) for 20 odd years.
Now this might be a bit weird but I'm also into American Football - the Oakland Raiders actually - who have also have a weird and wonderful fan base. |

You live in the West Midlands Watchman? Get in touch - we're trying to find a boozer in Brum that will show St Pauli games on a regular basis _________________ Martin Taylor is Innocent |

I'm up by the Lyndon now but from down by Wells Road orginally. There's a few St Pauli lads that drink in the Lyndon - we should have a tot sometime. The BNP have thrown quite a lot of resource at Sheldon... _________________ Martin Taylor is Innocent |

Where's the Lyndon....I know the name just cant place it.....
Your right about the BNP - get the odd leaflet from nameless bloke who doesn't stop to talk when I open the door. Leaflets get thrown in recyling straight away.
They also tried to spread a few rumours about the wagon becoming either a Mosque or an Islamic school.....not exactly a prime location for either...can you imagine the carnage if it had school with all that traffic?
They'll get a few votes ... as usual but the encumbents should do enough to get in again. |

Absolutely. They've done the same in Solihull, saying that a mosque was going to be bulit there, and in Dudley. Apparently this was going to have the world's largest minaret...
They did a little demo in the precinct last year and I've also seen them up by the Yew Tree. They've been met with indifference so far, but you just never know. Labour are non existent now in Sheldon so they could pick up a few votes.
Real shame about the Wagon. Never a good boozer, but better than the Sheldon, Three Horse Shoes and the old Shooting Star! _________________ Martin Taylor is Innocent |

was in the Sheldon at xmas, christ what a hovel. Its going to be turned into some sort of restauraunt though.
Was the old shooting star now the Spice Buffet Place?
Horseshoes is ok, pop in every now and again.
Dont do pubs very often and when I do its for food. Tend to go the Black Boy over in Knowle....
They re-opened the George on Common Lane, it was ok at first but last time I went in there wasn't a pleasant atmosphere.
The BNP do tend to spread crap about. There was one story a couple of years ago in the south where they campaigned on the twon been overran with asylum seekers when there was grand total of 0. |
