Alright?
I thought the best way to introduce myself would be through the clubs I follow.
Now I was born in Southampton (a few months after we won the FA cup) so I can't help but care about Saints. However due to the expense of games and the fact I live in London I have to admit I haven't been to a game for a good few years now.
I really got into following football however rather than just playing/watching on telly while I lived in Grimsby, I'd be down Blundell Park every other Saturday during the glory days of Brian "90%" Laws as player/manager, Ivano Bonetti and the rivalry with West Brom, some of the playing was great - but the atmosphere was often electric, there was the campaign to keep Bonetti then Laws punched him in the dressing room, there was my mates "Welcome to Hell" flag, the time we chased the coppers and West Brom to Cleethorpes station. And it only cost seven quid a time.
Mariners have fallen a way from those glory days where it even briefly (95? I forget) seemed like we could get promotion to the Premiership for a few games when I would have been genuinely torn in any game with Saints. But if I still lived up there I know I'd still go to games.
As for Sankt Pauli well I stayed with a mate in St Pauli (near Sternschanze) a few weeks ago and he is a massive fan, I have been aware of the club for a few years and have an English mate who is St Pauli/Ipswich, but I went to have a look at the Millerntor and bought a black hoodie from the Fanladen since when I've had loads of people come up to me wanting to chat, and I've been invited to their away game against Mainz by some of their lads.
I suppose I like the idea of a club where it's ok to be against racism, sexism and homophobia as well as one with good community based support. Don't get me wrong Saints has a good strong leftwing presence (ex Militant/AFA types) and the struggle against Lowe has helped to strengthen the community bond but still St Pauli has an international community of support as well as strong local support...
Anyway I'm rambling now. |

Oooooh! She can be such a bitch, that Urbs!
I had already PM'd Red Stain to extend the hand of friendship, actually, Andy. I did, also, comment on the lovely statue of Milan Mandaric - as used in the avatar.

I thought I was being quite friendly!!!
So, you starting up a new group? Hampshire's Hamburg Haters? South Coast Brownies (joining forces with Brighton, Bournemouth etc....)?
Anyway, nice to have another stain on the board, perhaps you can keep us up to date with when one of the multitude of billionaires is finally going to invest!!!
Have Fun,

You must have met Urbs then!!
I can see me having to cordon off a section of the Board just for you Stains fans at this rate. May have to pass a physical, though - a quick check for blue-tongue, that sort of thing!!

Now I'm not one to rub sea-salt into anyone's wounds but I'm guessing that Sunday could be an important day at The New Skip!!
After the draw at WBA last week the Stains should be favourites to stay up.......but it's a funny old game. Good luck, Scummers. If only Sheffield United had nothing to play for, eh? Otherwise they'd surely "chuck" the game to send Wednesday down - a bit like Pompey at the Hawthorns a couple of years ago!!!!!
The Board are a shower of shit and you deserve better.
All the best.

Cheers John, I'm a nervious wreck allready.
I've thought for most of the season this could be your year (everyone thought I was mad when you were drawn against Man Utd.
I just hope its not a repeat of 76!
The board were one of the reasons I gave up my season ticket ( plus the cost) and went back to my roots fulltme at Winchester City. _________________ Sie verlassen besser Stadt, wenn Sie uns nur, Nichts stants der Druck der Konflikt-Stadt-Rocker schlagen wollen |

Well, I still reckon Leicester are favourites for the drop.
A small consolation for you with Mandaric at the helm!! I will watch with interest, and, of course the 1976 comparison is too bizarre to ignore.
