Hi, just wondered if anyone on the board have been to see the amateurs? I was thinking about going over on 30/5 for their last game and was looking for a bit of information. For instance, do they play at Millerntor and if not can anyone let me know where they play? Also what size of crowds (roughly) they get? Any assistance you can give would be appreciated. Cheers

The amateures' home games are played at Union 03 Hamburg's ground, this season and last season.

However the occasional home match is played at the Millerntor, they hosted Kiel at the Millerntor this season from memory.

I've seen them play at their traditional Sternschanze home two seasons ago against Cloppenburg and also away at Altona 93 & VFL Hamburg.

Kicker always gives the attendances, the game i went to there was around 500, with the same at VFL and around 1500-2000 at Altona 93, which is well worth a visit.

I'd recommend you have a look at Norberts' website

as he's got superb pictures of most first team and amateure fixtures.

PS What's the team badge in your avatar ? looks a bit like Carshalton..

website, that game on the 30th is scheduled to be at Union 03's ground, go into Hamburg Oberliga Nord and it gives the address of the ground.

Aplogies if you do know this already, but that's a superb website that has been extremely useful to me in planning trips to the lower leagues.

the average game will have an attendance between 300 and 400, unless sth has changed significantly in the last few years (haven't been to an amateur game after my move to England)

there is still a chance they will get promoted and there's talks about having the games played at the Millerntor then

And don't forget the amendment of the league pyramid - one 3rd league rather than two regional leagues on that level so should they really get promoted the cosyness of watching amateur/reserves will be somewhat gone...

i was supposed to train with " 3rd team" last summer . Unfortunately due to bad weather early august , the pitch behind the good one where all the young play had to be rested.

otherwise i once saw a team wearing the pauli shirt , apparently 1st team play like amateurs against a greek team this summer , well at least two defenders and the keeper played like amateurs Laughing

Thanks very much to you all for your help. I am hoping to combine the amateurs match on the Friday evening with a trip to Union Berlin on the Saturday for their last match of the season which will tick another two new grounds for me.

Andy - yes it is the badge of the "not so mighty at the moment" Carshalton Athletic who need a miracle on Sat to avoid the drop to Ryman One. STill, if Tooting mess up in the play offs there will be some good derbys next season with them, Dulwich, Leatherhead, Casuals, Met Police and Chipstead down there - but we will miss the chance of renewing rivalry with "our friends" from Sutton. Thanks for that website. It does seem very useful.

I go to a few Altona games as I try and combine Friday St Pauli trips when they are at home on the Sunday (ie next weekend). Love going to their stadium.

@Edinburgh, no problem at all.

Altona is a cracker i must admit, even though they beat the amateures 4-0 last season on a freezing December day, took my nephew and we also met up with 4 or 5 lads from the site again as well.

However, 1FC Union's ground is just superb- i've done 40 German grounds and it's in my top 5 alongside Altona- right in the middle of a forest and if the Health and safety in the UK saw it they'd have a fit, i just had to take my nephew to that one as well, seen us play twice there.

Cracking ground with superb terracing and excellent support, not to mention their excellent song Eisern Union by Nina Hagen,so i'm sure you'll have a cracking day out there.

Went to Colston Ave last season when you played Thurrock and very impressed with the cracking covered terrace running the length of the pitch, hope that you do stay up and we(Ramsgate) may play you again next year if we don't reach the play-offs-have to beat Boredom Wood and hope that Wealdstone can get summat from Hendon.

40 in Germany is impressive - I am on 26 at the moment - and like you Altona 93 is up there alongside Concordia the old Mounchengladbach stadium, Augsburg and of course Millerntor. Looking forward to doing Union. Still need to do TeBe and Dynamo to get all the former main teams in Berlin, but I keep putting off going to Dynamo for some reason!!

The covered terrace is a good feature at Colston Avenue it is just a pity that they didn't rebuild the stand on the otherside that burnt down. If Ramsgate can beat Boreham Wood it could do Carshalton a favour if we actually manage a win then a 3 goal defeat (I think) for Boreham Wood would put us above them and safe.

Good luck on Sat!!

Yes, Cordi is great as well-saw their under 18's last season, haven't done Augsberg and i missed the old Bokelberg, TeBe is ok with a decent clubhouse.

Been to see BFC Dynamo away at Lichterfelde last season-they took around 250 there and around 150 polizei !, laughably the next day Kicker gave the att as 250, my nephew and i reckoned they'd just counted the BFC fans.

Am pleased to have done 40 in Germany but Lee's way ahead of me as he's done around 100 !

Just hope that we can do you a favour tomorrow...

Painful memories for me there Andy. On my stag do we were staying in a posh (well posh for a stag do) hotel across the road from the ground and were all set for a game v Meppen. I fell asleep 30mins before kick off -2.30pm Embarassed -and could not be woken to go the 2 minute walk to the ground (well we had gone out at 10am the previous morning! Shocked )

@Edinburgh, congrats on the great escape as the Rams kept their side of the bargain with a 5-0 win over Boredom Wood, of course this meant that Tonbridge wouldn't get in the play-offs-which is nice- and of course you went on at beat them to secure your Premier status.

Rams have now got Staines away in a massive(sorry) game midweek in the play-off semis.

Yes the results yesterday Andy were fantastic. Yet again Carshalton manage the great escape on the last day of the season (with a little help from our friends). The feeling in the Carshalton clubhouse was mass gratitude to Ramsgate. Good luck in the play offs.
