Late with this as I realise some matches took place last night!

Pleasant sunny morning so I think I'll have a walk down to Sam Smith's Park to see Newcastle Benfield BP take on Blyth Spartans in a warm up game this afternoon. Blyth aren't having the best pre-season so far and Benfield thrashed a strong NUFC Reserve side 6-2 earlier in the week (much to Adam Sadler's* anger and disgust) so it might be a reasonable game.
NUFC first team away to Hartlepool Utd this afternoon but couldn't get tickets for the away end and didn't fancy standing with the Poolies given my accent - even though they're a canny bunch.

SLIGO ROVERS v FINN HARPS..... a surprising omission. i thought, from "World Soccer's" THE WORLD'S 50 GREATEST DERBY GAMES (a good read in this month's edition for anyone who hasn't seen it)
they also (bizarrely!) omited HSV (spit spit spit!) v SP.... not, it must be admitted, that this happens that often!

Went to Sligo earlier in the season v Cobh. The railway end had more flags than people, but given the biting wind it was understandable. Thought your support was quite decent that night.
