Hi folks, just thought I'd let you know (if you don't know already) that the National Front are planning on holding another march in the North East. I'm guessing it's in Newcastle (their last one was, and I don't know where else they would march up there). There was a post on Indymedia about an opposition demo/mobilisation against it, but I'm not sure if that was fascists spreading shit.

Anyway, just thoguth I'd let you know as I know there are some people up that way. Wink Easy

Cool Happy smashing.

It's possible that they might hold this in Sunderland as they fielded a lot of local election candidates there. Holding it in Newcastle will get the most publicity though.
I'll probably meet up with lomographer and anufc if they're going. My days of carrying an 18''length of hosepipe (my prefered weapon) are long behind me though. Unfortunately.
I'll just chant and jostle.

mmmm...I wonder if they'll march past my place?
time to buy one of those water machine guns and fill the bottles of piss Laughing
if they take the same route the Orange march did the other month, I could hit any marchers from my window easy peasy and probably not even be identifiable

please post any info that comes out on this march as i seem to find out after the event (like with the fucking orange march)

Anthony.... I mean to protest against it. Rolling Eyes
The problem comes when there isn't enough of you to do that. Peter's idea sounds the safest but I think I'll turn up with a watching brief at least.

Laughing Les, a length of hose pipe? Fair play to you, that is the best choice of weapon that I've heard of.

I'll see what else I can find out and let you know. Wouldn't suprise me if they pull out though, they seem to have done that a few times recently. Like the 'Anti-homo demo' in Swindon. Rolling Eyes They really are clueless fuckers.

In the 70s I used to hang out with a few people from the Broad Left, IS and the SWP and inbetween 'Life of Brian'esque arguements we used to fight with the NDFM wing of the NF in Bradford. These fights were pretty vicious and my trusty length of hosepipe used to be swinging merrily against vulnerable parts of right wing bodies.
Afterwards I could also stuff it down my levis a la Spinal Tap to impress the girlies on Manningham Lane! Laughing

The length of hosepipe is easy to obtain, easy to dispose of and easy to transport. It needs no special training, it inflicts painful and damaging but not life threatening injuries and can be concealed up a sleeve.
It's not as sexy as an Uzi but is cheaper and easier to maintain.
However, at no time do I advocate or support violence towards another human being whatever their political affiliation. Wink
