my local team is Adelaide United in the Australian A-League

in a nutshell...

* we're in the AFC Champions League quarter finals against Kashima Antlers of Japan, the furtherest any Australian club has progressed in Asia

* the league was only created in 2005, but we're one of only two clubs from the previous, highly unorganised competition (the NSL) that moved to the A-League, the other club being Perth Glory

* two great young players have just signed for European clubs, Nathan Burns with AEK Athens, and Bruce Djite with Genēlerbirliği in Turkey

* we lost 6-0 in the final two years ago against Melbourne Victory (mentioned in an another thread on this forum), but it makes us happy knowing they haven't beaten us since Razz

* Brazilian legend Romario had an uneventful guest stint with us two years ago

* other players you may have heard of include Paul Agostino (ex 1860 Munich) and Bobby Petta (Celtic, Fulham)

* and this is the terrace, called The Snake Pit, at our home ground Hindmarsh...

It would have been immortal if only he hadn't reverted...
