I'm a Liverpol fan first & foremost. Slightly surprised not to see a few more on here to be honest, given the club & the city are pretty left wing. At the moment we seem to be outnumbered by the Evertonians! Very Happy

Give my regards to Joey Barton and his 'lefty' family - especially his kid brother in the klink.

Ouch - no mixing of words there...

Not to worry - perhaps we might need educating on L.F.C.'s previously unknown socialist tendencies...

Liverpool itself is amongst the most left wing cities in Britain (I reckon Glasgow is probably the only other candidate for the top spot) - Militant in the 80's, the Dockers Strike in the 90's etc. etc. Even now you won't find a single Tory on Liverpool City Council. This attitude is reflected within the clubs supporters - they might not be as overtly political as St Pauli, or Celtic for that matter, but it is there.

I knew enough about the city's history over the last 20 years or so to appreciate that it was broadly speaking left-wing. Wasn't quite sure what you meant when you said L.F.C. was also pretty left wing, but I can see where you're coming from.

And b.t.w. great result yesterday! Applause

Don't believe those Toffee lies!

Those wicked and malevolent Evertonians even hired that infamous Ken Loach to portray their supporters as members of the working class:

Just propaganda.

I don't think there is a leftwing or rightwing club in the Prem at all. After all, it's business.

Probably a fair bit of truth in that - even Chelsea's right wing element doesn't seem as evident as it used to be - more gloryhunters than headhunters nowadays!

Evening, all.

Just noticed the board on the wiki page about St Pauli.

Will admit at first hand that although I don't know much about the footballing side of St Pauli, I think that the politics and the way that you conduct yourselves is a credit to yourself and your great club.

Neither Liverpool or Everton have any left wing credentials or history. Liverpool as a city may have been 'left wing' (in as far as how people vote) But both Merseyside clubs had some of the most racist fans in the UK.
