Did anyone else catch this? I've just watched the extended version from last night. I don't think I've laughed so much in ages. Larry David stand aside.
If you haven't, it's worth catching and is on again on BBC 2 at midnight Monday May 5th.
The man is literally mad, but I think we probably knew that already! _________________ Lost your love of life? TOO MUCH APPLE PIE! |

Yes I saw it and agree. I remember a story about him in the first 'Blackadder' series where he apparently thought it was a serious drama and played his part in it as such throughout. Brilliant.
PS Well done on beating the mackems and staying up. As I said, can't wait for your game against Stoke next season!*

Didn't know that about Blackadder Les. I really do hope that's true.
Assuming Reading don't have a 7-0 win in them next week, it looks like your dreams will actually come true! _________________ Lost your love of life? TOO MUCH APPLE PIE! |

You have my word that he's exactly like that in his real (larger-than) life. _________________ Lover, Poet, Philosopher, Drunk and Bore...All in five easy pint shaped pieces. |

Not much to tell really: we frequented the same Green Room occasionally in the late 1980s. BB was part of a drinking clique which included Pete Postlethwaite, Barry Rutter and Michael Gambon that would hold court there. It would be unfair of me to comment on how much they imbibed as BB's remarkably mellifluous timbre and exotic hand gestures often spurred the other members of the group into exaggerated behaviour. Which also kept the more tedious ass-sucking boardtreaders away.
Nor would I in anyway advocate the tactic of pretend or exaggerated drunkeness to spill out a few home truths BTW. Just in case you were wondering. _________________ Lover, Poet, Philosopher, Drunk and Bore...All in five easy pint shaped pieces. |

But of course not, that would be most remiss.
I wonder at what point Brian Blessed lost his accent or whether he actually spoke like he does now when he was growing up near Doncaster? I like to think he has always spoken as he does now! _________________ Lost your love of life? TOO MUCH APPLE PIE! |

Well, I can't answer that (other than to suspect you're probably right).
However if the Orwellian State does ever drag me up to Room 101 my "rats" would include BB, Steven Berkoff, Sylvester McCoy, Ken Campbell and John Sessions. Not an ounce of sanity between them, and they all seem(ed) to be on a mission to prove it.
Jesus, I better not eat any cheese before bed tonight.... Brrrr. _________________ Lover, Poet, Philosopher, Drunk and Bore...All in five easy pint shaped pieces. |

A fine weekend of telly. In addition to Sir Brian, did anyone see the streaker at the snooker? Ran on, tried to, erm, place the pink in the pocket and then hid under the table. _________________ Martin Taylor is Innocent |

Well Les, the day you've been waiting over 3 months for has finally arrived. I can't believe you chose The Millerntor over The Reebok, but I hope you manage to find a pub that's showing the match. Enjoy! _________________ Lost your love of life? TOO MUCH APPLE PIE! |

Watched the reserves beating Vfl Hamburg 93 7-1 in the sunshine instead. I see that there were goals scored at the Reebok, intricate passing moves or high balls into the middle? _________________ 'The tragedy of humanity is not in the script; the tragedy is that there is no script'
