I am from Toronto, Canada and I am a diehard supporter of MLS club Toronto FC. I am also a big fan of FC Sankt Pauli and hope to attend a game one day soon.

The seat cushion idea was a bad promo ...though it was funny to see. Good luck in 2008 hope to see more goals scored. I hope to see Toronto and Vancouver meet this year ! should be a good match.

I went to a game at BMO last June and had a great time. Definitely the funnest fans in the MLS. Unfortunately that's not always saying a lot.

But with fans like Toronto, its only a matter of time before people start going to games in N.A. for fun.

There was a series of articles in my local paper (the Evening Chronicle) this week highlighting the links with Newcastle United and Toronto. John Carver, Laurent Robert and the recent bid for Shola all getting lots of column inches. I used to teach John Carver's younger sister about 12 years ago..... Rolling Eyes

Whatever happened to the Vancouver Whitecaps? and why were they called the Whitecaps? (if it is because they wore white caps then this is going to look like a very silly question)

I really don't have much interest in the MLS but I sure as hell hate Toronto FC.

Do me a favour Hooligan96, the next time you come across your manager/director of soccah, give him a Glasgow kiss. Then give hime another one once he gets back up.

What's the beef with Carver? Shocked I thought he was a pal of Celtic? He made a big deal of how sad he was at the death of Tommy Burns (RIP) including wearing a Celtic shirt in homage. have I missed something? I'm interested.

My guess is that 'Whitecaps' would be a reference to the mountain ranges that give Vancouver its backdrop........?

I understand now... Carver is a good Catholic boy, went to the same school as Sting, Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boy) etc and is definitely pro-Celtic. He's the manager/head coach of Toronto though? What's Johnson's position? Director of Football?

Around these parts, "whitecaps" are what you see when the ocean gets choppy. I wouldnt be surprised if that's what that meant.
