Have been made redundant along with 20 other workers. The owners are naught but dirty money grubbing capitalist pigs. The sooner we seize the means of production from these self interested scumbags the better. All this because the company profitibility will fall from £5million to £4Million this year and the shareholders want to see some action. They'll see some action alright when they and their useless exploititive class are dealt with.

The system sucks. We are all getting screwed big time. Funny how everything from bread to milk to petrol is going up, yet my company would laugh in my face if I asked for a payrise.

Still, on the upside, in a little while many of us will have a free six week holiday in Cuba to look forward to when the 42 Day Detention Bill goes through... and some fancy new free clothes in "personality-defining" colours too (if the end of the report I caught on BBC24 this morning is true).

UCATT humph, my dad was a shop steward for years, taking the lads out on strike over H&S, general conditions & pay (& won only to be stabbed in the back by scabs) resulting in him being blacklisted throughout the 80s from many sites. He still paid his dues & attended meetings after he retired, so when he died the other year we were a little miffed when the union claimed to have absolutely no record of him ever being a member, although the kid they sent to see if we wanted legal advice to sue had a lovely designer suit
