Large lake in the centre of town, get a circular route boat that goes right out to the subsurbs of Hamburg. gives you a different look at the town and is comfortable enough to chill out on. Vending machine sells beer and usual unhealthy snacks.

I always like to do a river trip every time i'm in Hamburg, I always aim to get the jagerboat, you'll see what I mean if you head to the river. also the fischmarkt on sunday mornings, 6am, is always a laugh

just like to say that joggers have a great artificial"lake" t oun around although it s a river, where you can jog 8km around a beutiful and quiet site , even going past the american embasy

directly around the Alster, you can't miss it. And quite a lot of "traffic" these days when the weather is good.
