Just got a PM from Chris:

The Birmingham Boys in Brown are proud to announce the fourth annual(ish) Brownstock gig, which will be held here in wonderful Brum on Saturday November 1 (venue tbc)

The gig is being held to celebrate all things related to FC St Pauli and raise some mazola for our chums in the Fanladen

Bands lined up so far include the mighty Goldblade, Clash tribute band Take The Fifth, New Zealand’s The Rabble and the People’s Republic of Mercia. They’re from Sutton Coldfield don’t you know.

There’ll also be DJs playing Northern Soul; ska, garage punk and other stuff I tell them to.

We’re delighted to announce that Stefan from the Fanladen will be coming over, so you’ve got no excuse not to join in the fun.

Whilst this is an early gig (we’ll be wrapped up by 10.30) we’re in the process of organising a private function in one of Digbeth’s fine boozers to continue the fun until last orders in the Balti belt.

Tickets will cost £10 and more details will be released over the coming weeks. If you want further information on the gig or accommodation, drop us a line at

John Robb was on radio 5 sat night, talking about, amongst other things, should Mick Jagger retire. He thought not.

Then the man is quite clearly insane. Mick Jagger should have given up in, erm, lets say, 1970. Street Fighting Man my arse.

It's the last weekend of my autumn half term holiday (fuckin' teachers, always complaining but.... Rolling Eyes ) so I might break my duck (topical) and attend.
So far, nothing else booked in.

As I say, the more the merrier!

This year's Brownstock is going to be an early start /early finish as it's in an established circuit venue that turns into a club at 11pm. So doors open at 5.30 and will be wrapped up by about 10.15.

However, we're trying to organise an after gig St Pauli party in another boozer in the immediate vicinity. Will keep you updated!
