Caught some of the Argentina v Brasil game the other day and noticed that both teams were playing with shirts devoid of a national badge.

Anyone know if there's any particular reason for it..?

Brazil got in trouble for wearing their badge in an early game and it was removed for later matches (apparently the players weren't happy - nothing to kiss Wink )

It is something to do with the fact that the team for the tournament falls under the juristiction of the Brazilian Olympic set-up not the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF?)

Must be the same for other nations.

yes, the football tournament is organized by the olympic federations and not by the football federations.. Our Belgian team played also with the olympic badge. They played btw in Adidas instead of the Nike outfit the football team normally plays in
